The Cincinnati CPCU Chapter hosted a Good Works project at Matthew 25: Ministries on Saturday, December 6th. All Chapter members and their families were invited to attend this inaugural event. We are pleased to report that 63 individuals came out to volunteer, which represented one of the single largest groups Matthew: 25 Ministries has registered at one time.
When we arrived, our large group was split in half to assist with two different projects. Chapter members with children under age 16 were included in the first group. Their work included sorting and organizing clothing donations out of large boxes. Group one also recycled the hangers, cardboard, paper, and plastic bags to take advantage of all usable goods. The second group assisted in the paint department where they were tasked with assessing, mixing, and dumping all acceptable donated paint cans into large drums by color.
Matthew 25: Ministries is a humanitarian and disaster relief organization that provides clothing, nutritional food, water, supplies, and personal care products to impoverished or disaster-stricken areas locally and around the world. Each year, they collect and distribute over 15 million pounds of donated items to areas in critical need. Volunteers play an essential role in the work of Matthew 25: Ministries through their help preparing goods for shipment in the warehouse.
We would like to extend a sincere thank you to all volunteers for their time and hard work! Included are a few photographs of our volunteer event.
