A native of Washington D.C., Paul Daugherty is one of the best sports columnists in the country. While working for newspapers in Cincinnati, New York, Dallas, Baltimore, and Norfolk, Virginia, Daugherty has covered almost every major sports event in America.
A journalism graduate of Washington & Lee University, Daugherty has won numerous awards for his writing abilities. He has been voted as one of the top five sports columnist in the country four times, and in 2004 he was ranked the second best sports writer in the nation.
In the Buckeye State, Daugherty has been named the Best Sports Columnist in Ohio five times. He has been working in Cincinnati since 1988 and has been on staff at the Cincinnati Enquirer since 1994.
While compiling his second book, Chad: I Can’t Be Stopped, he claims he discovered two things about the flashy wide receiver that “no one can cover.” One, he is not, in most ways, who he seems to be and, two, his passion for football is his best friend and worst enemy. He also claims that Johnson, in fact, can’t be stopped. “Certainly not by me,” he says.
Daugherty currently lives in Loveland, Ohio with his wife Kerry, his two children, and a golden retriever named Lucy.
