ANNOUNCEMENTS

CPCU Announcements:

Insurance Professional of the Year 2011

As in years past, the Cincinnati Chapter of the CPCU Society and the Cincinnati Insurance Board hosted the 58th annual Insurance Festival on November 10, 2011. Insurance Festival gives both the groups an opportunity to recognize the Insurance Professional of the Year. Nominations are submitted by members of both organizations and a committee is tasked with selecting the most worthy candidates. This year our nominations were unanimous for one of our members that exemplifies what if means to be a CPCU.

This year's winner, Melissa Hoffman, was honored by the society. Present to receive the award were Melissa’s two children, Emma and Seth. The Society is deeply touched by Melissa’s passing and wishes the family strength and courage as they remember the vibrancy of Melissa’s life.

WHAT WE'VE DONE

Here is a recap of what CPCU has been up to:

Lunch & Learn Educational Series #3
On January 18, the Cincinnati Chapter will delivered “Bridging the Gaps”, a one hour discussion facilitated by Don Malecki of Malecki, Deimling, Nielander & Assoc. The session was filed for CE in Ohio and Kentucky and was attended by over 80 participants. The session was hosted by Great American Insurance and took place in the new Great American Tower downtown on the 18’th floor. This was a fabulously well attended event and the Chapter thanks Julie Barnhill, Jim Niehaus and Donna Szuch for their extraordinary hospitality, and Don Malecki for the insights he offered relating to coverage gaps.

New Designee Dinner
On December 1, the Cincinnati CPCU welcomed 26 new CPCUs to the Chapter. These new CPCUs were joined by spouses and past Chapter Officers in a dinner at Montgomery Inn. Steven McElhiney, the incoming President of the National CPCU Society was present to conduct the Conferment Ceremony, as were six past presidents of the Chapter. In the opening remarks Mike Koscielny congratulated the new CPCUs on their accomplishment and encouraged each to continue in their journey of professional development. The evening attendance was 56, a very good turnout for this recognition event.
